Abstract konkurrence 2010

Abstract competition - 2010  

The Danish Society for Emergency Medicine and Region Sjælland seek to support and inspire research in Emergency Medicine and Acute Medicine.  We highly encourage all researchers, doctors as well as nurses, from all nations to participate in the competition.

All research in acute patients (including case reports), organization and related fields are welcome.  

Requirements
The abstract has not previously have been published in international literature.

The abstract is in English and must be less than 350 words. The abstract is structured by Background, Methods, Results and Conclusion and figures, tables and references are discouraged in the abstract.

Awards:
There are awards for the three best placed abstracts

2. 3000 DKr

3. 1000 DKr

Important dates
Last date for participation: April 18th 2010 at midnight, this will not be extended!
Response to participants: April 25th at the latest
Conference/presentation: May 20th and 21st 2010 

Selection process
An independent committee with senior researchers appointed by Region Sjælland, the Danish Society for Emergency Medicine and Harvard Medical School will judge (peer-review) the abstracts. The decisions by the committee are final. 

The three best abstracts will be selected for a 10 minutes oral presentation on May 21st. The presentation must be in English.

All other abstracts must be presented as posters (A0 format (118.9 cm in height and 84.1 cm in width)) on both May 20th and 21st. The posters can be in English or in Danish. On both days, there will be a poster walk with a short oral presentation (three minutes) of each abstract.

One representative from the authors is required to attend the conference on both days.

Publication
The accepted abstracts will be published in the international journal Scandinavian Journal of Trauma, Resuscitation and Emergency Medicine (http://www.sjtrem.com).   

The accepted abstracts will not be proofread by the organizers; therefore the authors are solely responsible for final proofreading before submission.
